Steve is one of North America’s favourite, most knowledgeable and enthusiastic Hockey Broadcasters
- He’s covered the NHL and Hockey around the world for over 30 years
Including 2010 winter Olympic games, the 2006 Stanley Cup finals and the last three Spengler Cups
- Steve is currently the host of his own show on SXM NHL network radio channel 91
- Steve is the only hockey broadcaster in North America who covers the girls game at all levels

Snipers (Players)
Round 1:
· Snipers guaranteed 3 consecutive shootout breakaways within 25seconds on same goalie
*Need to score 1 to move on to 2nd round
· Fail to score and sniper is eliminated from the competition
Round 2:
· Sniper gets to 2 consecutive shootout breakaways
*If you score ALL 3 in first round then player gets a 3rd shot
· Need to score 1 to move on to the finals.
* # of goals scored in the second round will determine how many breakaways you get in the finals which could be a huge advantage
*Potential WILDCARD pick for the 3rd round!
Round 3:
· Final/Elimination Round
· Sniper gets (x number) of shootout breakaways based on 2nd round results
· If you score you are still in with the other Snipers that score. If you score more then once in the finals you just get to stay in the competition the same as someone with 1 breakaway opportunity (Ex if you have 3 shots in the final and score on the first breakaway you don't shoot the next 2)
· If you miss you are eliminated from the competition
· Snipers who score in the final round will will continue to shoot 1 each until a winner is determined
Entry Fee: $50.00CAD
Stoppers (Goalies)
Round 1:
· Max 8 Goalies
*Goalies may or may not all see the same amount of shots based on # of shooters
· Each breakaway will be tracked and ALL Goalies will move on to round 2
Round 2:
· ALL breakaways will be tracked and the top 4 of Goalies will move on to round 3
· Goalies might not see equal # of breakaways depending on how many Snipers make it to round 3
Round 3:
Round 3 will continue until a Top Sniper is determined.
Each breakaway will be tracked and the top 3 Goalies with the best save % in round 3 will be ranked 1,2,3

Here’s how it works:
All will compete in same competition under the specified Age Group
· Open to ALL ages
Age Group is 2006-2013
· Max 25 Snipers
· Each Sniper guaranteed 3 shots. Only need 1 goal to move on the next round.
· Max 8 Goalies
· All goalies move on to second round.
Top 4 goalies move on to final round
· 3 shootout rounds.
Finals is single elimination.
Entry Fee: $50.00
Note:
· Limited to 25 entries and 8 goalies
· Prizes for Top 3 Snipers and Top 3 Goalies
· Special Awards for Best Shootout Goal and Best Save
· All winners featured on website

SNIPE CITY HOCKEY REFUND/CREDIT POLICY 2024
SNIPE CITY HOCKEY REFUND/CREDIT POLICY
$100 OF THE REGISTRATION FEE IS CONSIDERED THE DEPOSIT AND IS NON REFUNDABLE FOR ALL SNIPE CITY SHOWCASE EVENTS, INCLUDING:
• Snipe City Showcase/Snipers Camp Whitby (August 11-14th 2025)
THE BALANCE OF REGISTRATION FEES (minus processing fees ) IS FULLY REFUNDABLE OR CREDITABLE up to May1st 2025. After May 1st 2025 there is no refund.
• Snipe City Showcase Halifax (June 28 - 30th 2025)
THE BALANCE OF REGISTRATION FEES (minus processing fees) IS FULLY REFUNDABLE OR CREDITABLE up to April 1st 2025. After April 1st 2025 there is no refund.
Exceptions:
Medical issues. A full refund of registrations fees minus a $75 admin fee will be issued to any player who provides a doctor’s note stating that an injury or illness is preventing them from participating in a Snipe City Showcase event up to 30days before. OR A full credit for next years Showcase can be applied. If its within 30 days of the Showcase then there is no refund.
Cancellation of an event. If a Snipe City Showcase event or a Spring Team is cancelled, a full credit will be provided and can be used towards any future Snipe City Showcase Event.
